Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate ACoS?
Divide ad spend by ad-attributed sales and multiply by 100: $100 of spend that produced $400 of sales is a 25% ACoS. The calculator does this plus ROAS, TACOS and the margin-aware break-even line in one view.
What is a good ACoS for Amazon ads?
Any number below your break-even ACoS is good by definition — the point where total pre-ad margin equals ad spend. Because margins differ wildly per product, a 35% ACoS can be healthy for one SKU and fatal for another. Compute your line once per SKU, revisit when costs change.
How is break-even ACoS different from target ACoS?
Break-even is the line where ads stop adding profit. Target is the line you choose to run below break-even so ads contribute growth. The max-CPC reverse calculator converts whichever target you pick into a bid ceiling.
Should I use ACoS or TACOS?
Both, for different jobs: ACoS for campaign-level efficiency (bids, keywords), TACOS for business-level ad load (budgets, pricing). The TACOS vs ACoS guide shows how the pair moves together and what each pattern means.
Does the calculator account for returns?
Not as a separate line yet. If returns are material for your SKU, inflate the COGS field by your return-adjusted cost (e.g. COGS ÷ (1 − return rate)) so the margin and the break-even line reflect reality.
