Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate ACoS?

ACoS = ad spend ÷ ad-attributed sales × 100. It answers "what share of my ad revenue did I hand to the platform?" — but on its own it cannot tell you whether ads are profitable. That is what the break-even line is for.

What is a good ACoS?

There is no universal number. A 30% ACoS is excellent for a product with a 50% margin and ruinous for one with a 20% margin. The only good ACoS is one below your break-even ACoS — which this calculator computes from your actual per-unit costs.

What is the difference between ACoS and TACOS?

ACoS divides spend by ad-attributed sales only; TACOS divides the same spend by your total sales including organic. TACOS shows how ads affect the whole business — a falling TACOS at constant spend means organic rank is growing. See the TACOS vs ACoS guide.

How does the max-CPC calculator work?

Max CPC = target ACoS × product price × conversion rate. It is the most you can pay per click while landing on your target ACoS, given how often clicks convert. Bid above it and every click loses money on expectation.
